Assassin's Creed Valhalla : Wrath of the Druids - FX - Environment and Hallucinogen Fog

Here is a part of the work I did between 2020 and 2021 on Assassin's Creed Valhalla : Wrath of the Druids, the first expansion of the game.
- I worked on environment effects to give life to the different regions of Ireland. This task has been shared with Anaïs Riff and we worked in close collaboration to create world effects. I configured the WPS (World Particle System) to make the different effects spawn in the world depending certain conditions.
- Finally I helped on the creation of the Hallucinogen Fog Feature. Mainly managing the technical setup and the Hallucination. This one has also been shared with Anaïs Riff.

Note that the effects has been created with a shared texture and shader bank created in collaboration with other FX artists.

1st environment : The Bogs
Fog/mist, insects and smoke effect.
To have an optimize and more realistic effect, we used Fog Particles (writing in a general volumetric fog) in addition of classic smoke spritesheets.

2nd and 3rd environment : Dark and Mystic Forest
Fog Particles, smoke, falling leaves and dust particles.

The Hallucinogen Fog :
This effect is a combination of billboard smoke, volumetric fog particle, and post FX when the player is inside the fog.

Some additional work on Hallucination, dark silouhette with a custom material are appearing and disappearing around the player when he is in the Hallucinogen Fog.
